What the system checks automatically
When you select your dates, the system runs checks in real time and shows results inline:
| Check | What it does |
|---|---|
| Weekend exclusion | Automatically removes weekends from the day count |
| Public holiday exclusion | Removes public holidays based on your department’s holiday calendar |
| Balance check | Shows your remaining balance after approval |
| Team conflicts | Highlights team members already off during your requested dates |
If your remaining balance is lower than the requested days, you'll see an insufficient balance warning. You can still submit, but it may be rejected by your manager or policy rules.
Review summary
Before submitting, the confirmation screen shows:
- Leave type and selected dates
- Total working days requested
- Balance after approval — projected remaining days
- Inline warnings — low balance, team conflicts, or policy flags
What happens next
Depending on your organization’s approval configuration:

|---|---|
| Auto-Approve | System checks your request against policies and approves instantly if compliant |
| Direct Manager | Your department manager receives a notification and reviews via the Decision Card |
| Multi-Step Chain | Your request walks up the org tree, one approver at a time, until the configured depth is reached |
You'll receive a notification as soon as a decision is made — check your dashboard or email for updates.
