Notification Configuration

Choose which Holiday Ocean 360 events send email and in-app notifications, set up email approvals, use common setups, and audit every change.

Two channels, many events

Holiday Ocean 360 sends notifications through:

  1. In-app — bell icon in the top bar, also pushes a toast
  2. Email — sent through your transactional provider

For each event type you can decide which channels are enabled and which roles receive it.

Configuring a notification type

Open the Notifications page in the sidebar (visible to all roles for personal preferences; HR Admins also see organization-wide settings) and click any row.

For each notification you control:

SettingEffect
EnabledMaster switch — off means the notification is never sent
ChannelsToggle in-app and/or email independently
RecipientsEmployee, manager, HR — choose any combination
TemplateEdit subject and body for the email channel

Email approvals

For the Leave request submitted notification (sent to managers), the email includes inline Approve and Reject buttons.

Clicking either button opens a one-time signed link in the browser that lets the manager decide without logging in. The decision is logged with their user ID, the same as if they used the inbox.

Mobile-friendly approvals

Email approvals are the fastest path to keeping requests moving when managers are away from desk. Encourage your managers to enable mobile email push notifications.

Common configurations

GoalConfig
Quiet for low-priority eventsDisable email, keep in-app on
Manager-only alertsRecipients: manager + HR off
Critical events always emailedChannels: both on, can’t be disabled by users

Audit log

Every sent notification is logged in Audit Log with timestamp, recipient, channel, and event type. Failed sends are logged with the error reason — useful for debugging email deliverability.
